Meet Mira, 12 days young. Mira means “prosperity” in Hindi - such a beautiful name for a beautiful girl. She was so calm and an absolute pleasure to photograph. Her gorgeous mother was one of the many who monitored me in the hospital.

Jaya and Anthony, thank you for letting me take Mira’s pictures. Congratulations on your angelic daughter.
On May 6th two gorgeous baby girls entered our lives. Born at 34 weeks Emmy and Avery could not be more perfect. Hearing them cry for the first time was one of the best sounds I have ever heard. Knowing they were here and healthy was such a celebration. After a week stay in the NICU they were release and sent home. Seeing their beautiful faces reminds me everyday of how blessed I am.
My pregnancy was an out of the ordinary experience, but an experience I would not change. It was successful thanks to the Crouse hospital nurses, OB GYN residence, and the providers at the Perinatal Center. Words can not express my gratitude. Thank you!
From small beginnings come great things.

The heart shot below I had a beautiful friend and amazing photographer, Jessica Washburn from Clifton Park, NY come and helped me photographing the girls. Her work is stunning and full of emotion. It was a pleasure to work with such a fabulous photographer. Jessica, thank you for traveling to Syracuse and helping me document my girls while they were so tiny.

To make sure we did not get the girls confused we painted Emmy’s finger nail.

Before I was admitted to the hospital I knew I needed something to keep me occupied. What’s better than editing pictures to pass time? Here are a few…

Today I am 28 weeks which is a great milestone for monoamniotic twins. The closer I get to the 32 week mark, the statistics indicate a greater outcome for physical as well as mental health. I want to thank everyone for the emails, calls, thoughts, and prayers. You have given me the strength to focus on the bigger picture and have helped me not to dwell on what I am missing. Thank you.
Here is a picture in celebration of reaching 28 weeks.

Only 3 weeks until I go inpatient. As we know nothing is certain, and planning goes out the window with this type of pregnancy. I am holding onto the “plan” of 3 weeks. Am I ready? NO! Are my kids ready? I sure hope as much as they can be. The reality of being gone is setting in. Thank goodness Randy and I have great support system.

Meet Finn, a 9 day old full of smiles. He was very good to me and it was a joy to photograph him. I could have photographed him all day. Erica and Brian, thank you for allowing me to capture your new little man. Finn is very lucky to have such a loving family. Congratulations again.

We have been blessed with monoamniotic twins due early spring. My family and I were very surprise and shock to find out we were pregnant with twins. Unfortunately, monoamniotic twins are at great risk for health complications because of the close proximity of the two umbilical cords in the amniotic sac. Mid March I will enter the hospital, so I can be constantly monitored. Our goal is to make it to 32 weeks gestation. I am very positive and I know God gives you what you can handle. Our hands will be full, but better full than empty.
So, what does this mean? As you probably guessed, due to the high risk associated with monoamniotic twins, I will not be taking any portrait bookings at this time. It is still unclear when I will resume sessions. I will update my blog when I do so.
What’s a post without pictures? I love detailed shots and don’t share them enough. Kendall is obsessed with her new “sooze.” The first day she got them she wanted to sleep with her new shoes. In the morning instead of yelling for mommy or daddy we heard her talking to her “sooze.” It was so cute! The other picture is of her wild locks. I love her curls to pieces but boy they can get out of control.

My sister and her family are here visiting from Syracuse, NE. It is pretty funny we live in the same city but different states. I don’t get to see them often so I am soaking in as much family time as I can this week.
Melissa, I know you are excited to see…

I am very lucky to have a great group of neighbors. This family is beautiful inside and out. Thanks for letting me drag you all over the place.
FYI, if you know this family do not say a word to K’s parents…they are going to be a surprise.
A little urban…

A little country…
